Summary

The Global Procurement & Contract Manager at Elastic is responsible for supporting the sourcing, procurement, and contract review process for the Marketing category. They will build relationships with key stakeholders, manage vendors, lead contract negotiations, and provide data insights and recommendations for procurement optimization. This individual contributor role reports to the Global Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing and requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

What you'll do

  • Building relationships with key stakeholders in the marketing category
  • Running RFx events for marketing agencies of all types (i.e. creative, demand generation, video production, etc.)
  • Manage a set of vendors in your category by running business reviews, troubleshooting ongoing procurement issues, and analyzing data to ensure they deliver a quality service to Elastic
  • Leading the contract review and negotiation process by partnering with the business, sourcing, legal, IT, and data security teams
  • Working with in-house sourcing counsel (Elastic attorney) based in the USA to resolve sophisticated contractual terms, either by involving them in the negotiation or seeking appropriate risk tolerance approval
  • Assisting with updating contract playbooks, contract templates, and procedures in close collaboration with the legal and sourcing teams
  • Working with internal business partners to ensure their needs are captured and understood as it relate to any purchase requests
  • Working closely with other Global Sourcing Managers to ensure the procurement and contract activities align with their Category strategies
  • Build and communicate critical metrics reports regularly based on a defined list of critical metrics (Cost Savings, Procurement Influence, Payment Terms, etc.)
  • Support sourcing strategy and procurement optimization processes by providing data insights and recommendations. Collaborate with the sourcing team to maintain preferred vendor lists and actively advise the business to consolidate spend.
  • Perform procurement analytics to deliver useful insights to larger procurement team to enable significant business impact

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in business or equivalent.
  • 7 to 12 years of experience working in purchasing and contract review. This is not an attorney or lawyer role.
  • Rich understanding of global and US vendor commercial contracts with a specialization in technical categories such as SaaS, IT infrastructure, and general technology contracts and non-technical categories such as marketing, travel, consulting, and corporate services contracts (preference will be given to expertise in non-technical categories)
  • Will have worked for US and global technology companies in a contract review or procurement capacity
  • Strong communication, influencing, persuasion, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Possess high integrity combined with good judgment, with the ability to identify, recommend, and select the best overall solution
  • Strong ability to develop and manage relationships with key business partners and vendors
  • This is a global position and may require some travel
  • Work hours - per EMEA shift (1 pm to 10 pm IST) to align with North America time zones overlap.
  • Also, have flexibility in work times to support all other global time zones, as needed.
  • Be a self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude. Must be willing to work on one’s initiative and must be focused on achieving your goal.
