Summary

Truveta is seeking a contract Clinical Terminologist to standardize data sourced from different health systems by identifying, creating, or validating mapping between medical terms and standardized Terminologies. The role requires expertise in clinical terminologies such as SNOMED CT, RxNorm, and LOINC, as well as understanding of electronic medical records and medical terminology. The contract is expected to last about a year with potential for extensions.

Identifying, creating, or validating mapping between medical terms from various healthcare systems to standardized Terminologies
Extending standardized Terminologies
Standardizing data sourced from different health systems
Data normalization
Medical terminology linking
Terminology management
Collaborating with cross-functional teams
Project management with minimal supervision
Team management
Participating in efforts to enhance data management process
Performing data checks and edits to ensure quality
Maintaining project documentation

Requirements

Education in Medicine or related fields (Nursing, Pharmacy, Clinical laboratory science, Medical Informatics, Medical Research, Medical scribing, medical coding…)
2+ years of experience in the field
1+ year of practical application in at least one of these clinical terminologies: SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC
Understanding of Electronic Medical Records, including but not limited to reading medical charts, medication lists, lab reports, SOAP notes, procedure notes...
Understanding of vast medical terms and frequently used abbreviations
Provide subject matter expertise in one or more areas within data management.
Effective communication skills, project management with minimal supervision
Cross-functional team collaboration (engineering, project manager, modeling team) to deliver constant improvement in data pipeline.
Team management skills
Actively participate in efforts to enhance data management process as needed.
Proficient at project time management.
Develop and maintain project documentation.
Perform data checks and edits to ensure quality.
Comprehension of guidelines to maintain effective data standards.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Experience in clinical terminology mapping using SNOMED CT, LOINC and RxNorm.
Experience in annotating training data for machine learning models.
Certificate in SNOMED CT is a strong plus.
