Join Airbnb's People Analytics team as a Data Scientist for a 3-month contract, contributing to impactful projects like survey analysis, workforce hiring strategies, and fairness in company processes.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with other Data Scientists to help stakeholders understand people-related business problems
- Utilize appropriate statistical models and data science methodologies to gain insights, explain, or predict a wide variety of people-related processes
- Translate data and insights into meaningful visualizations and stories to drive strategy, action, and decision-making with stakeholders across the business
- Align research priorities with business priorities and take a customer-focused mindset
- Leverage academic expertise and knowledge of people analytics trends to address practical business challenges
- Exercise traits of adaptability and good judgment to support organizational agility
- Be a constant learner, active listener, and teacher to advance data science, people analytics, and Airbnb
Requirements
- 1-3 years in industry experience and/or a Master's degree/PhD in a quantitative field
- Experience in research design and advanced statistical analysis (experimentation and quasi-experimental methods)
- Ability to conduct statistical analysis using R or Python
- Ability to access databases via SQL
- Knowledge of and experience in survey design and analysis
- Experience interpreting survey data and using it to drive decisions
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross functional partners of varying technical levels
- Experience working with large practical datasets
